Acute Sales Ltd was established in 1990 to offer a technical Instrument supply service to industry under the name of Acutest. From the humble beginnings of the two founding Directors the company has grown to become one of the UK’s largest privately owned Test Equipment Specialists. Now employing around 65 staff in four separate trading divisions the company has established itself as a leading player in the Supply, Repair & Calibration of Test Equipment.
The modern 14,000 sq/ft HQ operation in Staffordshire houses the Main Stores, Service Centre and City & Guilds accredited Training School along with various Sales and Administration departments. The company also has satellite offices based in Shrewsbury and Bristol which covers the whole of Wales and west region of the UK.
The Company has invested heavily in its IT infrastructure both for internal and external benefit. We have our own In-House Web development team that not only look after our own corporate and ecommerce sites but also several contracted customer websites.
The Service, Repair & Calibration Department has grown rapidly since gaining ISO9001 Quality assurance back in 1992 The Company now Calibrates more than 20,000 items annually and carries out repair work to additional 4000 units. Capability’s now encompass more than the usual 17th Edition and Electrical PAT requirement as Pressure, Environmental, Combustion Analysers and Specialist High Voltage Test Equipment can all be checked and Calibrated in-house. The Company can also be found operating at Customers sites around the country and currently carry out more than 400 “On-site” Calibration Days through a team of dedicated on-site engineers.
In 2008 the company obtained ISO17025 UKAS accreditation and this coincided with the opening of a new state of the art custom built air-conditioned laboratory at the companies HQ. This accreditation is the highest level that a commercial laboratory can obtain in the UK and demonstrates the company’s commitment to ongoing quality and service.
Acutest became an accredited City and Guilds test centre for both PAT and 17th Edition Testing early 2009 and NICEIC accredited for Solar Photovoltaic in 2011 enhancing our commitment to training, alongside Cable avoidance, Thermal imaging, and Tester awareness courses.
Acutest customer focused approach has seen rapid expansion of it’s client database including many of the UK’s largest Blue Chip Companies and Utility suppliers signing up to use Acutest as their chosen Test Equipment Specialist.
